Blue paper-covered boards, quarter vellum, with gilt-titled spine. Octavo. With engraved border on title-page, plus large engraved initial on page three, and two engraved headpieces. Light toning to endpapers but overall a near-fine copy in the original dust jacket (designed by Bernard Salomon). The present work compiles over 150 poems, including recent poems by Hart Crane, Léonie Adams, Wallace Stevens, and more; and "Change," a previously unpublished poem by Stanley Kunitz. The Wallace Stevens poems, including "The Snow Man," appear here two years before the second edition of his debut collection, Harmonium; the second edition truly introduced his poetry to the public after only 100 copies of the first edition were sold.
