Miss Isabel Cottrell told "Poindexter that Charles E. Curtis, a shoe clerk, had insulted her while fitting her feet." Apparently Curtis had made derogatory "remarks" about Miss Cottrell's feet. For this offense, "Poindexter declared that Curtis must be horsewhipped and, with his brother, went to Curtis' shop and struck him several blows. Flabbergasted Curtis could (truncated)
