The second cookbook, following The Little Dinner, from Christine Terhune Herrick, author of over thirty books on housekeeping and cooking, and the daughter of Marion Harland (pseudonym of Mary Virginia Terhune). Her first article was published in the very first issue of Good Housekeeping, in 1885. In this work, Herrick offers a brief history of the chafing dish and practical suggestions for each gender for its proper use, recipes, and menus. Some light staining to edges. In publisher's paper-covered boards, decorated and titled in gray and yellow. Some rubbing to spine edges, and darkening to spine. Generally very good. Scarce in decent condition in any edition.
