A BEAUTIFUL AND STRIKING VIEW BOOK FROM THE LATE 1890's WHICH FEATURE ITALIAN & SWISS LAKES. MOUNTED COLOR PHOTOGRAPHS CAPTURE SERENE AND IDYLLIC TRAVEL DESTINATIONS AT IT'S BEST.
Oblong, 4to red cloth with Gilt Titles and Pretty Stamped Design in colors of Flowers & Reeds. Cover has beveled edges, brown & cream decorated floral eps and 12 pages of color photographs mounted on heavy card-stock. Photo size: 6 1/2"x 9". The pages are hinged in the French style of the day. Each photo has been mounted within a bordered box - the publisher's name is underneath the photo on the bottom left side. Each photograph has a discreet number and title at the very bottom of the left side. This identification does not interfere with looking at the photograph's scene. Front free ep has a crease at the bottom right corner - crease is mainly visible from the blank verso of ep not on the floral decorated side.. Back fep has a very tiny corner chip at bottom - actually pretty inconspicuous. Original owner's neat script on ffep offers his name - Bellagio Lake Como, Italy, June 7, 1898.
This lovely view book is in VG condition - and quite frankly I would love to be there. (Inventory #: 58)
