Lincoln, 1906. Very good.. 68pp. plus frontispiece and errata. 12mo. Original grey printed wrappers. Light soiling and wear. Small ink stamp on verso of first leaf. Internally clean. Temperance poetry written by a doctor in Nebraska. In one piece, titled "Our Bondage: Written on Nebraska's Senate Refusing the County Option Bill," he writes: "King George once swayed his scepter here, / And ruled us with an iron hand... / King Alcohol now holds high sway, / And seeks to rule this land of ours-- / And in our legislative halls / He shows his great corrupting powers...." The copyright page advertises the author's address to apply for copies of the work, bound in cloth or wrappers. We locate three copies in OCLC, at the Huntington, Kansas City Public Library, and the Lincoln Public Library.
