First edition; 8 1/4 x 5 1/2; pp. [4], 7-21, [2]; pictorial, card stock wraps; gray dust jacket, printed in blue; illustrated with one drawing, identical to that on the front wrap - both designed by Iakiv Hnizdovskyi; book with very light wear to corners and tips of spine; DJ with small nicks at folds and a bit of sun-fading to margins; in very good condition.Ostap Tarnavskyi (1917 - 1992) was a Ukrainian-American poet, literary critic, translator, and librarian. His career in literature began early, during the interwar period, with some of his poems being published in several authoritative journals and newspapers in Ukraine. After escaping, first to Germany, then to the US in 1949, he joined the Ukrainian-American Relief Committee of Philadelphia, eventually becoming its Executive Director, and was head of department at the library of City College of Philadelphia. He published memoirs and poems, including the current poetry collection, which was his second overall and the first to be released in the US.
