Miller was a well-known Broadway producer who mounted a production of an adaptation of the famous novel on Broadway in 1951, starring the then newcomer Audrey Hepburn. The adaptation by Anita Loos came eight years after the issue of the original novel and seven years before the great movie musical. This inscribed copy of the book had come from the estate of Kathryn Bache Miller, the producer's widow and heiress of a large Wall Street fortune. Number 295 of limitation of 535 copies. On papier velin de Rives. Folio. 33.5 by 26.5 cm. 129, [1] pp. With 37 colored illustrations by Bérard. Conditiion: chemise spine darkened and stained, with wear along edges. Otherwise, pages inside, which were issued loose but with gatherings, are clean. Overall a beautiful copy, with a meaningful association.
