ABOUT THIS BOOK:
This is a story of grim days when England was emancipating workers who were the victims of a new industrial era, as earnestly, though less violently, than America was delivering the dark slave. The scene of the story moves from the lovely countryside of England to the Timber Industry of Western Australia. An industry the little colony was battling to establish under great adversity. The very pursuit of success in this field brings together two young people whose lives would have lain far apart. This is a throbbing romance of love and a fight for ideals that were in advance of the general thought of the day.(Publisher).
