Four richly inked color posters advertising waiter's races in Mexico. Folio. [30 x 39.5 cm and smaller] Surface marks, old folds, edge wear, and light soiling. Still bright and attractive. Loose as issued. [1323]
The four posters advertise races in the following locations: Acapulco, Febrero 17 de 1957 ; Veracruz, Abril 20 de 1957 ; Monterrey, Junio 30 de 1957 ; Puebla, Noviembre 20 de 1957, each with an illustration by Héctor Ramirez Bolaños printed in vibrant colors. While the origins of the waiters' race or "course des serveurs" likely dates to 19th century France, the event has proven immensely popular in Latin America.
