Octavo. 215pp. Bottom corner of the cover very gently bumped else just about fine, in a lightly spine-sunned and lightly edgeworn dust jacket that would be very good or better, save for a 3½" closed tear on the lower panel, neatly reinforced on the verso. With a lovely Inscription by Chute on the title page: "For Claude- Love Carolyn XOXOX." One the title page, she has drawn 12 beans (one with a beard and another with a top hat), with another four in the text. The bean on the final page has a speech bubble that says "Bye." Chute's first novel, and the basis for the 1994 indie (truncated)
