by Lincoln, Abraham
Abraham Lincoln The Nation's Martyr Assassinated 14th 1865. New York: Currier and Ives,1865. Medium Folio -14" x 9.75" inches. A photorealistic lithograph portrait of the martyred President, issued shortly after his death. Currier and Ives was a major printmaking firm that would utilize the reuse of stock images for "rush printings" that chronicled major events. This is one such example. Three tears on edges - left, upper, and bottom right - between 1-2 inches. Minor toning, including one spot on Lincoln's forehead but this lithograph is generally in good condition.
