Second edition; 8 3/4 x 6; pp. [1], 4-56; salmon wraps, printed and ruled in black; vertical rease line along spine and a few small chips and cuts to edges of wraps; upper right corner of text block with a light discoloration, not affecting readability; in good condition. Mykhailo Starytskyi (1840 - 1904) was a Ukrainian author, poet, playwrighttranslator, and cousin of famous composer Mykola Lysenko, with whom he would work later in life to rework folk songs into plays and operas. He would also head the first Ukrainian professional theater in 1883. His current social drama, one of his most popular works, was originally released in 1892.
