None identified: None identified, 1885. No binding, ephemera. Near fine. [PRINT]. Matted and Framed print of the U.S. Flagship "Chicago", No maker, place, or date [c. 1885]. 10 ¼" x 22 ¼" mat opening; 16 ¾" x 27 ¼" frame size; chromolithograph on board, matted as found, new archival backing, in a period frame as found; near fine. Unknown printer and date, but the U.S.S. Chicago was made by the Delaware River Iron Ship Building and Engine Works of Chester, Pennsylvania, and launched December 5, 1885. It was one of the new steel ships in the White Squadron of War Ships (hulls were painted white) commissioned by Congress to update the Navy. Reframed with an archival backing in the narrow oak frame in which it was found.
