DeCarava's collaboration with Langston Hughes resulted in the classic book "The Sweet Flypaper of Life" which is widely considered one of the best photo books of the 20th century. Produced on the occasion of a major traveling retrospective on DeCarava. Features an introduction by noted curator and photo historian Peter Galassi along with an essay by Sherry Turner DeCarava Includes 194 tritone photographs and an additional 43 duotones. A fine copy in a very near fine dust jacket. Signed and inscribed by DeCarava in the year of publication. The recipient was Michael Roudette who was a senior research librarian for the Schomberg Center for Research in Black Culture. Additionally this copy has been signed by Sherry Turner and Peter Galassi. A nice association copy.
