New York: Republic Pictures, 1946. First Edition. Signed and inscribed by actress Adrian Booth Brian who starred in the film. Miss Booth is credited in the film as Lorna Gray, a name she was given by the studio early in her career, which she later changed to Adrian Booth, adding ‘Brian’ from her marriage to actor David Brian. Her inscription fills the entire front free endpaper and reads: “To The Cliffhangers Club, Along with the others whose lives you have honored, I add my sincerest thank you. To be remembered fondly in such a way is a rich gift, which I shall cherish. God bless all of you, Adrian Booth Brian.” Cutting continuity script. Hardbound, 170 mimeographed pages, 8 1/2” x 13. Specially hardbound copy, from the Cliffhangers Club collection, bound in dark green cloth with the title and ‘A Cliffhangers Club Edition’ stamped in silver on the front board. Used and worn copy with dampstaining to the endpapers and the bottom edges of the interior, not affecting the legibility of the text, and with some edge wear to the boards. One of the classic motion picture film serials issued in twelve chapters for the film Daughter of Don Q, directed by Spencer Gordon Bennet and Fred C. Brannon, starring Lorna Gray (Adrian Booth), Kirk Alyn, LeRoy Mason, Roy Barcroft, Claire Meade, and Kernan Cripps. A film incorporating an inheritance, a beautiful woman, and murder with much intrigue and romance. Serial scripts of this vintage are rare. (Inventory #: 17034E)
