London: Hamish Hamilton, 1972. Near fine in very good plus dust jacket.. Signed first UK edition of this collection of fairy tale favorites and lesser-known Brothers Grimm stories, illustrated by award-winning artist Nonny Hogrogian. Nonny Hogrogian, an Armenian-American from a family of artists, started her bibliographic career as a book designer for publisher Thomas Y. Crowell. She worked as an art director for several other publishers, until she earned her first Caldecott Medal for ALWAYS ROOM FOR ONE MORE in 1965 - the success inspired her to become a full-time illustrator. It was a good choice: she earned another Caldecott Medal in 1972, and a Caldecott Honor in 1977. Many of her works incorporate aesthetics and stories from her Armenian heritage. 9'' x 7''.
