Raymond Depardon is a Pulitzer Prize winning photojournalist who, in 1966, co-founded the prestigious photojournalism agency Gamma, and became director in 1973. He also the director of several documentary shorts and feature films, having directed 17 films since 1969, including the 1990 documentary short "La Captive du Desert," which was nominated for the Palm d'Or at the 1990 Cannes Film Festival.
