Boston: Leonard & Co., 1875. Nathaniel Bradstreet Shurtleff, Sr. (1810 74) was the twentieth mayor of Boston, from 1868 to 1871. He was a Harvard grad., and a member of the AAS. He was the editor of the "Massachusetts Bay Colony Records" and author of "A Topographical and Historical Description of Boston." His excellent library of regional Americana and genealogy was auctioned the year after his death, in a multi-day sale consisting of 1790 items. This catalog has been annotated in manuscript with prices realized... which are as interesting as the listings themselves. Mather's "Magnalia Christi" brought $22.50. Morton's "New England Memeorial" $10. Bound as issued in printed wrappers. Front wrap detached but present, back wrap lacking. Some edge chipping. Text very good. . 24.5 cm., 92 pp.
