First edition, limited to 300 copies (this #266), signed by the artist; 10 3/4 x 8; pp. [8], vii-xii, 1-208; cream cloth over boards, decorated and ruled in gilt, red, and green; illustrated with 61 plates after paintings by Rose Barton; age-toning and a closed, 1" cut to spine; small rubbed spots to tips and corners; a few smudges to endpapers; overall in very good condition. Inscribed by Scottish layer and Liberal politician Eugene Wason (1846 - 1927) to British businessman and politician Sir Archibald Williamson, 1st Baronet (1860 - 1931). Rose Garden (1856 - 1929) was a British-Irish watercolorist, renowned for her children portraiture and images of the townscape of both Iralnd and Britain.
