Sheet measures 15 1/2" x 11 This early lithograph depicts Karl Asmund Rudolphi, a Swedish-born scientist, botanist, zoologist, and natural historian based in Germany. The print was made by Adolph Kunike circa 1820, after a painting by August Temmel. Owner stamp verso, some foxing, lightly mounted to larger sheet. Adolph Kunike (1777-1838) was a German-born Austrian illustrator, lithographer, and publisher. He studied art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, and in 1816 he made the acquaintance of Alois Senefelder, the inventor of lithography.
