5 Letters from F. & S. Crandall of Blue Earth MN to Mr. and Mrs. Roberts, 1865-66

Twelve pages. Some chipping. Letters about what is going on in town including a lot of building. Also brief reference to Fort Randall in Dakota territory. Of most interest is the letter about Lincoln, "There was a man at Wasiaje that hurrahed with the news of Lincoln's death. Those standing by him told him to take it back but he would not, they took out and hung him. It is said that there was a man hung for the same reason a miles west of us." (Letter dated April 28, 1865}.
