London, 1772. xi, [1], 139 pp. The front board is detached, and the spine label is lacking. The book has a finely engraved title page, and this copy belonged to the society's Treasurer, John Thornton. Much of the book promotes ideas for encouraging boys from low-income families to be trained as sailors. There was also a fund to help train girls in various professions so they could support themselves.
