Annual Address of the President of the Melrose Women's Christian Temperance Union
May 9, 1900. 12 page manuscript. Merrill talks about the evils of the Army Canteens, providing for a cold water fountain outside the town hall and holding an Anti-Roberts meeting to prevent the polygamist from Utah to be seated as a U.S. Senator. She mentions Mary Livermore, the important reform lecturer who lives in Melrose and is a member. Included is a note regarding money for a marble bust of Livermore. Good with the usual folds.
