1861. Great circa 1861 folk art heart in hand made by W.F. Morse for his wife. Dated 1863 and likely given to his wife on his return from the war. The note on the piece reads in part "made by and old soldier when war commenced in the battle of Bull Run." Morse was later owner of a music store in Saratoga. Included is a Morse family genealogy with Morse's ownership stamps. The heart in hand was found in the book.
