The rodeo shots presented here exhibit all the arrested vitality for which Winogrand is justly famous, we see the would-be-masters and their intended subjects in numerous incarnations. As always in the best Winogrand photographs, the subject (truncated) transcends the specific time (1974-1977) and space (the Fort Worth Southwestern Exposition and Fat Stock Show) to become a commentary on human nature that is indeed bigger than Texas.
