Clow, until its demise in 1925, when Clow was sent to Federal prison for running a blackmail scheme. The magazine would later return in a different format several years later. This original run debuted in 1916 and made its bread and butter implying a host of moral lapses by celebrities, including substance abuse, adultery, unwanted pregnancies and same-sex relationship, along with a sprinkling of racial stereotypes.
