(ROYAL ACADEMY) Nonsense Manuscript sketch at the end of a 4-page letter, undated but probably circa 1880, showing the antics of seven cleaning women preparing for the opening of a new show at the Royal Academy of Art, scrubbing the various framed canvases using feather-dusters, brooms, cloths, &c by way of provenance, addressed to an artist named Cooke.

"I just write a line to say that I am taking the liberty of telling two or three interested friends that they may go to see your pictures -- and I have given them my card that there may be no mistake. I know how full your rooms are but I could not help telling them that I was sure you wd kindly allow them to walk up, pay their money & take their choice. I shall call in on Saturday with a party of about 320 grown up people, 60 children and a cow. This is the penalty of your being so good natured. I hope the washing & dusting is [ ???] & that Mrs Cooke won't be over-fatigued. Ever yours sincerely, Arthur Church"
