In part: "...Congratulations on the remarkable job that you're doing at the United Nations...for the U.S., it was a major diplomatic coup, reversing a decade of deteriorating political relations with the Third World...the manner in which you handled these delicate negotiations makes all of us even more proud of you than ever before...Just wanted to wish you well. Keep in touch." Signed "Herbert H" at the conclusion. Paper clip indent, staple hole, else fine. Sold with carbon copy of an earlier letter sent to Humphrey from Moynihan, thanking him for approving his nomination. Humphrey, Hubert (1911-1978).
