N.p.: N.p., 1920. Vintage double weight matte portrait photograph of actress Carmel Myers, circa 1920s. With the stamp of photographer Clarence Sinclair Bull on the verso ("Camera Study by Clarence Sinclair Bull / Kindly Credit"), a mimeo snipe to the verso, and the photographer's name blindstamped the bottom right corner of the image on the recto.

Myers began as a theatre actress before signing with Universal, and several years later, with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Both studios cast her primarily as a vamp, including her most famous part as the Egyptian seductress Iras in Fred Niblo's "Ben-Hur" (1925). Unlike many of her contemporaries, Myers had (truncated) a relatively successful career in sound film, co-starring with John Barrymore and Marian Marsh in both "Svengali" and "The Mad Genius" (1931).

Photographer Clarence Sinclair Bull worked as the head of the MGM stills department for forty years, specializing in publicity stills and portrait photography. Bull was best known as Greta Garbo's photographer from 1929 to 1941, but also worked with many of the studio's leading stars of the period, including Clark Gable, Katharine Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, and Grace Kelly.
