By [Tar Sands] L. Culbreth & Company
Salt Lake City: Utah-Wyoming Oil Company, 1918. [8]pp. Quarto [28 cm] Stapled printed wrappers. Very good. Prospectus for an oil sands project in the San Rafael Swell being promoted by L. Culbreth of Salt Lake City, on behalf of the Utah-Wyoming Oil Company. Illustrated with black and white views and a map. Not much came of this particular venture.

"It can be said truthfully that no risk whatever is necessary to engage in the oil producing business in the San Rafael district. Nature has put the oil sands where man can 'help himself' to as many billion tons of them as will satisfy his needs; and by the use of simply designed mechanical devices, he can extract as many millions of barrels of oil as can be consumed for hundreds of years to come." - p.6.
