London / New York: Encyclopædia Britannica Company, Ltd. / Encyclopædia Britannica, Inc, 1929. Hardcover. Fourteenth edition. 24 Volumes, complete. Quartos. Approximately 24,000 pages. Dark navy cloth. With in-text illustrations and black and white plates; the final volume is illustrated with color maps. Spines modestly sunned with slight loss at the ends, occasional moderate wear, thin paper causing some vertical creasing to a few leaves of each volume, often with some edgewear, several hinges neatly strengthened, a sound and about very good set; two volumes with neatly repaired splits to a couple of leaves, Volume 10 with a short L-shaped tear at the crown. The one outlier is Volume 13 (Jere-Lebe), with a heavy textblock ripple causing distortion to the boards and a (neatly repaired) split at the lower shoulder. As mentioned, altogether sound and just about very good, with the the text and plates otherwise clean.
