A guide to horse care by Colby who served in both an infantry and a cavalry regiment in the Civil War between August of 1862 and July of 1865. He served at Fredericksburg participating in the Marye's Heights charge and at Chancellorsville. An informative ready reference presenting what were apparently tried and proven remedies for a variety of ailments and wounds. Uncommon.
