Published just five years after Grandville's Scènes de la vie privée et publique des animaux, it could hardly be more different, with the Mueller having just a hint of anthropomorphism, unlike the Grandville. As with so many children's books, few copies seem to have survived with OCLC listing just 2 copies, both in Germany.
