The New Home Sewing Machine Co. listed their locations on the front of the paper doll card in Orange, Mass., at 28 Union Square, N.Y., in Boston, Mass., Chicago., St. Louis, Atlanta, GA., Dallas, Tex., and San Francisco, Cal. The premium was given for children to cut out and put together a picture of a woman sewing. The larger of the two premiums (8 ½" x 5") gives a choice of two double-sided doll heads, a young or older woman. The heads could be folded at the crown and inserted in the neck slot of the seated figure at the treadle-style sewing machine. While not dated, the gigot or leg-of-mutton sleeves on the woman's dress and tight bodice with a bustle point to the last part of the 19th century. Printed directions state "(Cut to heavy black line and fold on the dotted lines)."
The smaller premium (9 ½" x 3 ½") pictures a rose covered three-story cottage with a peaked roof and the words "Our New Home" on the porch overhang. A small figure of a woman sewing could be placed inside the 3-D home when it was assembled using the printed instructions. The card has a one inch-closed tear with a crease on the left side.
