Signed by Allan Nevins, one of the advisors, on the third volume. Allan Nevins would later title his biography of Adams: "James Truslow Adams: Historian of the American Dream". Provenance: Samuel Flagg Bemis (Yale historian and two time Pulitzer Prize winner), his blind stamp on title page of volume 1.
