Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. No binding. About Fine. [Los Angeles: MGM, 1927]. Vintage original 8 x 10"" (20 x 25 cm.) black-and-white glossy silver gelatin photo. Crease at bottom left corner, about fine. Portrait of MGM's most popular leading man of the late-silent/early-talkie era. With a golfing theme, Haines was paired with Joan Crawford in this lightweight comedy. Crawford was moved to star status and Haines made the list of top-ten box office stars thanks to the popularity of this film. They would form a lifelong friendship, and it was Crawford who promoted him in his second career as an interior designer after MGM fired him for his open homosexuality. Photo coded WH-32 and has an Apeda NY mark at lower right corner.
