Playing with the trope that "every sex worker is somebody's daughter," Sophie Calle here juxtaposes 18 black-and-white photographs of herself performing a striptease with facsimiles of congratulation-cards sent to one Dr. Calle on the birth of his daughter Sophie. (In real life Calle's father Robert was both a collector and an oncologist). The cards are housed in glassine envelopes affixed opposite the vellum-printed photos, with English translations provided on following pages.
