As Roderick Cave noted [see: THE PRIVATE PRESS, p.183], "As Colin Franklin has so well put it in a phrase in which he linked Morris, Cobden-Sanderson, Hornby, and Newdigate, the books appear as if the literary works were privately digested as well as printed, and presented in the form proper to them." The text for Vol.I from the 11th edition, published 1688, which represents Bunyan's final revision; Vol.II taken from the 2nd edition, published 1687. Slight fade to backstrips.
