All six volumes of this seven volume set are in fine to near fine conditions in dark blue decorated cloth covered boards with gilt text stamping on the spines and with blind embossed seals on the front boards. The end papers for each book are decorated with maps of various sections of the United States which have bearing on the text within each volume. None of the volumes are in dust jackets as they were issued without them in first edition. However, volumes V and VI are in near fine individual slip cases.
