[No place: no photographer, 1865. Unbound. Near Fine. Albumen photograph. Approximately 2¼" x 3¼" on a slightly larger card mount, verso is pink coated paper over card. Very slight fading on the image, overall near fine. A slightly startled baby stares with bemusement and awe towards the camera. Evidence of a mother's arm behind the baby propping the baby upright, often referred to as the "invisible mother" in photography circles.
