Best known for containing the first book appearance of the Frank Rooney story, "Cyclists' Raid" (originally publisher in Harper's). It was the basis for the first biker movie, "The Wild One," produced by Stanley Kramer, directed by László Benedek and starring Marlon Brando, Mary Murphy, Robert Keith, and Lee Marvin. Also includes William Faulkner ("A Name for the City"), Eudora Welty ("The Burning"), Truman Capote ("The House of Flowers"), Carson McCullers, John Cheever, Evan S. Connell, Jr., John Hersey, Arthur Miller, Jean Stafford, and others.
