Percy Ewing Matheson (1859 - 1946), a British translator and author, translated the poems in order "to convey something of the distinctive spirit and athmosphere of Russian life" in the aftermath of the October Revolution. Included were works by Lermontov, Nekrasov, Tolstoy, Pushkin, Tyutchev, and others.
