- Detroit, Michigan: Detroit White Lead Works, 1930
Detroit, Michigan: Detroit White Lead Works, 1930. Very good. Two brochures, two-fold, then double-fold, 12 panels each; 7 1/2 x 4 1/2 and 8 x 3 3/4; illustrated with Art Deco drawings and 49 and 24 color paint chips laid on respectively; a bit of wear and age-toning along margins and folds; in very good condition.Beautiful advertising brochures, they showcased the colors of Rogers lacquers, including several stippled ones with brilliant marbled effects. The Detroit White Lead Works was founded in 1865 and manufactured paint by mixing white lead, oils, and colors. Some of their lacquers' claims to fame were that they "dried, while you wait" and could be used on wallpaper, linoleum, etc.
