Stevengraph in gilded card mount; image 5 1/4 x 3 1/4, mount 7 1/4 x 4 1/4; silk with several thin splits; mount with a horizontal cut to right edge; label on verso age-toned and chipping; in fair to good condition.A rarely-seen stevengraph today, it was based on an 1899 painting by R. Caton Woodville and depicted a full-length portrait of a British soldier in khaki battledress, with his head in bandages, rifle with bayonet in his hands, and a helmet on the ground by his feet. The label on the back announced that the picture was reproduced by permission of the London Daily Mail, and that part of the proceeds of sales would go to the Daily Mail Fund.
