Original paper blurb describes the photo as depicting a scene in the movie in which Mary Astor, at center, is rehearsing a play with her director and cast. A lost film for which only photos such as this exist.

Mary Astor played an actress down on her luck who is persuaded to marry a wealthy explorer portrayed by Jack Holt. She doesn't love him, and on their honeymoon is seduced by Ricardo Cortez and goes to live with him. She finds that she must return to the stage to support him, a drunk and an embezzler. True pre-Code melodramatics!
