Sahab Geographic & Drafting Institute, founded in Tehran in 1935 by Abolghasem Sahab and his (truncated) son Abbas Sahab, was the first private geographic and cartographic institute in the Middle East. Abolghasem Sahab was a prominent Iranian writer and publisher, while his son Abbas (1921-2000) became known as the 'Father of Iranian Cartography', producing over 1500 works for the firm.
