Though the cover states "Limited Edition" there is no indication of a limitation. xxv, 479pp. The editor makes note that there are several works available that show the developments in the history of Beowulf criticism and philology that have some bearing on our underestanding of Beowulf and the Critics and "Beowulf: The Monsters and the Critics." The editor also notes Tom Shippey and Andreas Haarder's Beowulf; The Critical Heritage, is the most important resource for the study of pre-Tolkien Beowulf criticsim ever published. The editor stated that there was a reason for another edition as the first edition, unfortunately had several errors and he was happy to take the opportunity to correct them. A lovely edition bound in full leather lettered in blind, spine lettering in blind. A fine copy.
