The History of New Hampshire.

Philadelphia; Boston: For the Author by Robert Aitken; by Isaiah Thomas and Ebenezer T. Andrews, 1784; 1791. Well, here's a project. This is the first appearance of Belknap's important "History." The complete set was issued by two publishers - Aitken for Volume I in 1784, and Thomas and Andrews for Volumes II and III in 1791 and 1792. Unfortunately, this set lacks volume III, and it also lacks the map that was supposed to be in Volume II. So, it's a cripple, but an enticing one, being uniformly bound in contemporary full calf with raised bands and spine labels. This is an important set. Howes B-323 rates it an "aa" in rarity.
