Trans Film Archive Starring Guy Pearce, Terrence Stamp, Hugo Weaving, The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert

[LGBTQ Film] [Photography] The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, PolyGram: 1994. Four silver gelatin press photographs, measuring 8" x 10". Written by Stephan Elliot, following three drag queens played by Guy Pearce, Hugo Weaving, and Terrence Stamp, who plays a MTF transgender woman, on an adventure in the Australian Outback in a tour bus named Priscilla as they encounter various rouses and individuals. The star studded cast, positive betrayal of the LGBTQ community and themes, as well as it's set and costume design lent the film to receive worldwide praise and positive critic reviews. The film won an Academy Award for Best Costume Design (truncated) at the 67th Academy Awards and became a cult classic both in Australia and abroad. The film was later turned into a musical which opened in 2006 in Sydney before making it's way internationally until it debuted on Broadway. These four rare official press photographs show stills of Stamp as MTF transgender character, Bernadette in an elegant white gown and up-do, and two photos of Pearce, one out of drag fashioning an earring, choker, and vest, and another film still of him as "Felicia", in a flashy feathered costume.
