The Blue Fairy-Book; Profusely Illustarted in Black And White and Colors

Small Quarto. 190 unnumbered pages, profusely illustrated in color and in Black and White with 14 rich chromolithographs, including Jack the Giant Killer, the Three Bears, Ali Baba, Aladdin, Tom Thumb, and others. This is one of the scarcest editions bound in blue pictorial cloth depicting a witch riding a broom with an owl on the front cover in blue, red, gold, and black. Spine lettering gilt, wear along the bottom edges and spine, the spine ends have the cloth covering chipped but had evidently been colored blue, some wear through to corners, previous owner's gift inscription dated Dec. 23, 1898.
